Hope you're all staying warm and entertained through this absurdly cold winter. We've been lucky when it comes to winter weather...It's crazy to think, but a year ago, we were enjoying summer weather in Australia on the "abroad" stretch of the fearless tour. And as far as 2011 goes, we've definitely been dodging some snowflakes by staying busy recording our new album between Nashville and sunny California. Speaking of the new album, it's about that time once again...time for a new Gloriana radio single!
The song that we've chosen to "break the ice" with our second album is a song that I co- wrote with our wonderful producer Matt Serletic along with Wendell Mobley entitled "Wanna Take You Home." The story behind this tune is simple: we spent the whole summer of 2010 playing festivals and fairs around the country. Most of these shows were during the day, so we had the bonus of being able to see all of your beautiful faces in the crowd- unlike arena or club shows where it's really dark. So, as the crowd was watching us over the summer, we spent a lot of time watching the crowd! It was so cool to be able to really see everyone's reactions to the music in that "light." At almost all of the shows, we ended our set with the song that got it all started for us, "Wild At Heart." I started to notice that as soon as the beat of "WAH" kicked in, a majority of the crowd would start dancing. So every night started to feel like as I was putting on a musical performance for the crowd, the crowd was putting on one hell of a dance performance for me! Which leads us to our new song "Wanna Take You Home," which is plainly and simply about the feeling that a young man such as myself gets while watching really hot chicks with really good dance moves. I mean, does it get any better than that? Nope.
Remember: call those local radio stations and request it if you want to hear it. It will be available for sale on iTunes on March 8th, and most country radio stations in the US should have it by March 28th. I really hope you all like it! Can't wait to play it, and the rest of our new music for you on tour this year!
